Immanuel Choir.
Adult and teen singers from Immanuel and the community come together to lead the assembly of worshipers in song, to prepare liturgical and choral music for worship on Sundays and festivals. The choir also occasionally presents a concert of sacred music. Recent repertoire has included music by Bach, Palestrina, Mozart, and Distler; from Gospel to chant, from Africa to Latin America and Asia. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. from mid-September through Pentecost (usually in May or early June). Some members are excellent sight-readers and leaders; others can match pitch but desire careful preparation and teaching of harmony. We all work together to welcome anyone regardless of their experience, as long as they can “carry a tune” and are eager to work hard in a cooperative effort.
