Youth and Family Ministries:
As part of our mission to strengthen all God’s people, Immanuel offers many growth opportunities for youth and families in our congregation and community. These include an IYO after-school program, Edgewater Tutoring, Together Family Play Groups, Sunday School, Jubilate Children’s Choir, Rainbows Grief Counseling and the church nursery. All are places of safety and learning which bring people together to Strengthen All God’s People.
Immanuel has long been a Safe Harbor for Children and Families–beginning with Chicago’s first Swedish immigrants to the people of Edgewater today. Offering a Safe Harbor for Children and Families is nothing new –even if the name might be. It reminds us of who we are as a congregation, what we are doing with our Family and Youth Ministries and why we are doing it. This all ties into Immanuel’s mission to Strengthen All God’s People, yet is broad enough to include other partners from our community of diverse faiths.
